Task 6 - Draft Statement of Intent

Product 1: How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning and meet the requirements of your chosen brief? (approx. 400 words).

For my music video I plan to use media language to create a narrative video which will have the perception of realisation, feelings and emotions. All these factors will appeal to my target audience as they are aged 15-30 and mostly young women and old women as they are interested into the stereotypically theme of love. The shots in the music video will relate to the theme of love/heartbroken which is typical form in where you see the theme being represented through different ways. I plan on showing this through emotions of the characters and showing soft environments and atmosphere by displaying fragile things such as flowers, views and nature. The narrative story that will be presented will just show instantly how this it is a typical R&B music video because most videos include a narrative or a theme of love. To achieve this result the mise-en-scene element of setting is where I will ensure it to be in different location suck as the park, restaurant and the city since these will display the characters to be going on a date where they move around to different places. I’m planning to have the characters dressed in casual and bold coloured clothes where they look relaxed yet sophisticated as the colours represent the young love.
I want my female character to have a bold eye look which stands out to match her outfit and also show how feminine she is. The way the character are presented shows the ups and downs of the relationships. You can see how this is presented through the behaviour of each character and how they change their attitudes immediately as soon as the female feels that she’s being ignored. You almost see an emotion of uncertainty in her, as her mood changes. Ultimately through the music video I want the audience to interpret the real message behind the narrative/ story line, as I want to convey that not all relationships are perfect and they are all a work in process. Both people need to work at it to make it work. I want the audience to take something positive out of this music video as it shows the importance of love and bonding, which both take time to merge together. I want them to feel the worth of love through this and realise how fortunate people are to have loved ones no matter what the relationship is. To get the music video populated into the media industries I would upload the video on YouTube and share it on social media platforms to reach to a wide amount of audience to reach many views.

Product 2: How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning and meet the requirements of your chosen brief? (approx. 400 words)

For my website I plan to have the typical  the media language code of the website design where  will ensure people will have the access to a menu bar where the audience can see any links to which they wish to access such as ‘music’ ‘tour’ ‘store’ gallery’ and ‘news’. This feature on the menu bar will also have links/names for social media accounts of the artists so they can be easily added or noted. I would also like include a comments section where the audience or fans and comment and interact with each there in a friendly platform with each other. I will ensure that the ‘news’ page is updated regularly but I also want to keep this on the front page if there is any new news or breaking new about the artist.

I also want the artist to leave a personal message for the audience so they feel connected to her and I want this to me on a separate page where the audience can see it of her writing and signature. Through the characteristics and personality of the artist I aim to represent the website which reflects the artist and some of the things of her life such as bts footage and some interviews and he daily life posts. I want the audience to feel connected to the artist as they get to know her more on a personal level than just a singer and I want this to be a positive element because the website is complete about giving back to the audience and if the website is not personal then I feel like it’s not fair on the audience.

How do you intend to link your media products to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the digitally convergent nature of your media production? (approx. 100 words)

A way to keep my products digitally convergent by is by publishing the video on the website and having a link to YouTube. I plan to keep updates on the website and some teaser videos for the music video that will be releasing soon. i will also embed the music video to make the website digitally convergent. The way she's represented throughout the music video is the same way she's represented in the music video too by her style of fashion.
